Title: Analysis of the CNG impact on some of the combustion parameters of dual-fuel compression ignition engines
Keywords:

Abstract: The article reviews various studies related to the application of compressed natural gas (methane) as a gas fuel for dual-fuel operational cycle of compression ignition engines. Some of the studies show decrease of the maximum cylinder pressure, heat release rate and maximum rate of cylinder pressure rise but other observe this behavior only at low loads while the medium and full loads are related with increase of the cylinder pressure, heat release rate and maximum rate of cylinder pressure rise when CNG is used for gas-diesel working cycles. All of the analyzed studies describe increase of the ignition delay period based on the amount of CNG provided to the dual-fuel mode engine.
