Title: Traffic flow density study at traffic light junction
Keywords:

Abstract: Density is important characteristic of traffic flows which inform how many vehicles occupying a stretch of road of unit length at a given instant. Its quantity impacts of other, speed and flow rate, characteristics and gives an opportunity to be determined needed geometry parameters of junctions. The most of studies carried out so far give results about density at crossroads entries of every approach but not in junctions' zone of their stop lines. This study try to explain this question in three junctions in City of Sofia. The provided results are basis for further development in a Lighthill-Whitham-Richards (LWR) model area and road and junction capacity.
