Title: Design improvement of component parameters by virtual prototyping
Keywords:

Abstract: The study presents an application of virtual prototyping techniques to improve functionality of a product with minimal changes. Examined problem is related to an electric power tool switch design that is functionally tested and certain issues with its performance are found. The manufactured production tool does not allow a significant change that increases complexity of the problem solving process. Available options for design improvement are limited and any possible intervention should be assessed preliminary. This is a typical illustration of application of virtual prototyping techniques for complex problems solution.
