Title: Comparison of two alternative design solutions of spherical self-aligning roller bearings

Abstract: Two alternative design solutions for spherical self-aligning roller bearings are compared - the first is the existing 20310 TH9 spherical self-aligning single row bearing with barrel-shaped rollers, and the second is its alternative with circular-toroidal concave rollers. By means of comparative calculations of contact stresses and their modeling by CAE simulation, conclusions are drawn about the feasibility and competitiveness of the considered alternative designs of the discussed design solutions for spherical self-aligning bearings.
