Title: STUDY THE DESIGNING OF PARTS MACHINING IN SOLIDWORKS CAM SOFTWARE Keywords: CAD, CAM, NC code, CNC machines Abstract: The approach manufacturing industry was using in 80’s fell behind because of the slowness of the process and the complications in the design. That is why manufacturing industry adopted CAD tools to generate the design and models of the products and the whole process became a lot less complicated and fast. But in today’s world if we are using the CAD tools to design the product and then writing the NC codes manually then we are losing a considerable amount of time. This is why if we start using the CAM softwares to generate NC codes along with the CAD softwares then we can save the excess time and the manufacturing process will be more efficient. SOLIDWORKS CAM support 2.5 axis milling includes roughing, finishing, thread milling, face milling and single point cycles (drilling, boring, reaming, tapping) to machine prismatic features.
