Title: A Study on the Dynamics and Performance of Personal Watercraft Using GPS Data Acquisition System

Abstract: In this paper, the dynamic behavior and performance of a personal watercraft (jet-ski) is studied. Data on straight-line acceleration and maximum speed were obtained. The acceleration and the maximum speed were studied with and without the additionally installed pump wedge. Also, results for the vibration acceleration of the personal watercraft along the three axes – longitudinal, lateral, and vertical acceleration were obtained. A GPS data acquisition system and an additional built-in accelerometer were used. The results are presented in graphical form and analyzed.
