Title: A Robotic Camera for Surveying of Sewer Collectors

Abstract: This paper presents a low cost robotic radio-controlled platform for monitoring of sewer collectors. The development is carried out based on the respective requirements that it must meet. The platform is driven by appropriate brushless direct current motors with electronic commutation. The presented system can be controlled from a console in a van or by radio control and has the possibility of wirelessly transmitting a video image to a monitor also located in the van. Practical studies have been carried out and experimental results are presented and discussed. After the tests held and the respective results analyzed, some improvements have been made. The described robotic system can be used to carry out sewer inspections and to locate some accidents.
