Title: Optimization of Heat Sink Design by Simulated Annealing Method Keywords: optimization, heat sink, modeling, thermal field, cooling, a Abstract: This work applies the Simulated Annealing method for multiobjective optimization of aluminum planar heat sink design. Two objective functions are considered independently and combined, first is temperature minimization at the base plate and second is the heat sink volume reduction. A Finite Element Method (FEM) is used to model the thermal field of the design variations under consideration. The optimization FEM model is built using FEMM software, applied via Octave-FEMM interface to Simulated Annealing toolbox in MatLab. Results are showing new capabilities for optimal heat sinks designs with reduced weight and improved heath conduction. References Issue
