Title: Medium and low voltage distribution network model Keywords: distributed generation, distribution network, matlab models Abstract: The necessity to understand the behavior of a distribution network (DN) is causing the development and integration of various control instruments and optimization models which contribute to the sustainable energy provision and simultaneously tracking and predicting any possible deviations of steady-state regimes. Generation of multitude of different in size and nature function data is the cause to commit system mistakes and respectively improper functional analysis. A model of DN is developed and presented in this paper which can simulate variable operating regimes of the loads and of the sources. A battery energy storage system (BESS) is connected to one of the modelled substations and can be considered either a source or a consumer of energy, i.e., a distributed energy source (DES) is present. Thus, the model can be utilized to study the behavior of DN in terms of voltage quality, levels of reactive power, and to test different control algorithms References Issue
