Title: N-way Gysels Modeling Using Transmission Line-based Wave Digital Framework

Abstract: The transmission line (TL)-based wave digital framework can be used to simplify engineering of complex microwave circuits like power dividers/splitters. In this paper, N-way Gysel power dividers (GPDs) are studied by derivation of the TL-based equivalent wave digital model (WDM) followed by utilizing MATLAB/Simulink environment. Based on this approach, a code is developed that predicts the scattering parameters of the analyzed GPD structures. Planar GPD structures containing 3-ways or 4-ways are investigated and a method for development of an equivalent circuit for the multiport parallel adaptor is presented. The analysis of the studied GPD structures begins with a simple geometry and can be extended to more complex geometries very easily. The simulation results are evaluated against TL-based simulations from Advanced Design System software.
