Абстракт: The paper presents the possibility to increase the education quality by computer-aided visualization of the processes in electric power systems. Operational parameters of an electrical distribution power line 110 kV, such as currents and voltages, are computed in the visual programming environment of Matlab Simulink to study the behavior of the relay protection and auto-reclosing devices. Standard library blocks as well as user-defined ones are utilized during the simulations. The created blocks encompass the following functionalities of modern numerical protection relay devices: earth-fault protection, auto-reclosing, tripping and closing coils of a circuit-breaker.
