Абстракт: Investment funds accumulate capital and invest it through a portfolio of assets. They play an important role in capital markets by accelerating growth, creating jobs and increasing EU autonomy. EU-domiciled investment funds held €18.8 trillion in assets in 2020, of which almost two-thirds were held by households, but there is also a significant indirect share in investment funds through contracts in life insurance companies and pension funds. This highlights the need to effectively protect consumers from excessive costs or biased advice from financial intermediaries. As a result, investors may face higher costs and may be sold inappropriate products.
