Abstract: This article quantifies the application of system diversity to increase the reliability and security of communications in geographically distributed computer systems. Based on the multidimensional stress strength analysis and the classical theory, new models have been proposed, and new analytical dependencies have been derived, which can be used to quantify the increase in reliability and security of distributed systems.
