Title: Challenges to the development of independent work skills in the comprehensive school Keywords: active learning, independent work, learning skills, competen Abstract: One challenge of the new reality to achieve quality education is to teach students in comprehensive school to learn independently, to apply their knowledge in new nvironments, and to solve problems and creative tasks. This poses new determinants when assessing the quality of knowledge. Students' entering into the role of the subject of the educational process, which is also their teacher, becomes the main organization of the learning process and has its own specific effective toolkit. It has proven to be successfully applicable in the implementation of e-learning in a remote access environment. For quite a long period the students had to manage on their own at home, without the immediate help of the teacher. There was a need to form in them the ability to work independently, but for this it was necessary to teach students to work independently. This is the first determinant of quality knowledge.
