Title: Landslide monitoring based on inertial measurement units and Zigbee network
Keywords: inclinometer; inertial sensor; landslides detection; Zigbee

Abstract: The inertial sensors allows to measure the object dynamic parameters. The deformation of the building constructions (dam and retaining walls, etc.) and geodynamic processes (landslides, screes, etc.) are time prolonged processes, which require continuous monitoring and is based on satellite remote control or high accuracy inclinometers. The current paper represents a network, which contains multiple sensor nodes connected to Zigbee network. This network is installed on an area prone to landslides and the sensor position is controlled by measuring of the poll positions in the section. The sensor nodes are based on the BNO055 inertial module, which directly calculates the Euler angles and quaternions. The data are sent via Zigbee network to the local computer represented by Raspberry Pi (rpi) board and are stored in the local MySQL database. The rpi module is used as a network gateway and base station as it supports the web server for system monitoring and control
