Title: Renewable Energy Sources and Reduction of Operating Costs for Public Lighting in Municipalities Keywords: roof photovoltaic power plants for the needs of public light Abstract: The reduction of the operating costs for public lighting in the municipalities through the construction of roof photovoltaic power plants (PVPP) on municipal buildings is a reserve that is not used yet. The model "the municipality sells energy to the PVPP during the day and buys it in the evening for the needs of lighting" is advantageous, as the regulations in the Republic of Bulgaria allow energy consumers to become energy producers. The operating costs of roofing PVPPs are low and their maintenance can be part of the maintenance of public lighting systems. The power of the PVPP is chosen such that the revenues from the sale of energy from the PVPP to "cover" the remuneration of the company that maintains the street lighting. References Issue
