Abstract: Logic encryption is becoming more and more a necessity for the realization of integrated circuits (IC) and especially for FPGAs due to the demands of new technologies such as IoT. The security mechanism by using different techniques at different stages of digital design is implemented to prevent piracy and protection of intellectual property (IP) from malicious users. Nowadays, it is very important to design logic circuits not only to ensure security but also, to provide low power consumption. In this paper, we study some of the vulnerabilities during the FPGA design techniques and experiment with the impact of the application of logic encryption techniques for FPGA-based designs with VHDL on power consumption and resource utilization. From the obtained results we noticed that the application of complex techniques increases not only the complexity of the circuit but also the area and power consumption. The purpose of the performed experiments is to study the main parameters that affec
