Abstract: Business development trends, innovations and Internet in the recent years show that business companies create/generate new sources of value - new products and services, new ways to access the customers. Technological innovations and a diversity of web2.0/3.0 applications possesses potential for shifting the source of business benefits - change the market relations, transfer/add value between customers and companies, shift business models in new horizons. The development of Social Networks (SNs) and web-based applications adds not only new innovations options, but also boosts changes and results in new benchmark practices. The purpose of the paper is to research the basics and types of SNs in business. The study begins with i) presenting the SNs, the most widely used globally while ii) the focus is on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. The study summaries iii) the best practices of social networks usage. The last iv) part of the paper explains the developed SNs implementation model in bus
