Abstract: The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of external forces on the load sharing characteristics of planetary gear trains and full planet engagement gear train in particular. A special test rig is designed and manufactured for this purpose. Low speed dynamic testing is conducted with different load scenarios. All data is acquired with strain gauges and the results are compared.
