Abstract: In many contemporary scientific experiments, data acquisition (DAQ) systems are widely used for measuring and converting real physical magnitudes to numeric values in order to be subjected to consequent computer calculations. This paper presents the work which has been performed in the process of developing a data acquisition system for a small propeller test rig in MATLAB. A newly designed DAQ system processes raw data from the state-of-the-art sensors of a previously designed and currently updated test stand. The main objective of this specific study is the aerodynamic characteristics evaluation of a small propeller, generally applied in many multirotor-type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This data system performs all the tasks regarded with inserting and reading sensors’ data, statistical post-processing, data synchronizing, concatenating the sub-data arrays, and evaluating the main propellers’ aerodynamic characteristics and some auxiliary parameters.
