Title: Solar potential for building integrated solar collectors: Application in Bulgaria, Romania & France
Keywords: azimuth influence; Building integrated solar systems; inclin

Abstract: This paper presents the first results obtained in the frame of an international project of collaboration between Romania, Bulgaria and France concerning the integration of renewable energy systems into building and urban area. A solar radiation model, previously validated, is used to calculate the available solar energy in various planes (with various inclination and azimuth) for a photovoltaic or thermal conversion. The influence of the inclination of the solar irradiance via the season, monthly and annual solar energy for French, Romanian and Bulgarian sites. Using a Building Integrated Solar System (BISS) can have positive or negative impacts on the availability of the solar energy. A good compromise must be found between an aesthetic integration and an optimal inclination and orientation. Architect and building designers must take into account the utilization of the heat and the daily profile of utilization which can justify a special orientation.
