Abstract: Energy efficient routing is an important issue in resource constrained Internet of Things (IoT) networks due to limited energy of the sensor nodes. In this paper an approach for routing in MMSPEED protocol considering the residual energy has been proposed resulting in energy efficient paths for real time traffic. Simulation results show that efficiency concerning power consumption of the sensor nodes is improved and overall lifetime of the wireless sensor network is also increased.
