Title: Design and Experimental Validation of LED Driver with Custom Low-Profile Magnetics Keywords: LED lighting, low profile magnetics, PFCAbstract: This paper presents the design and experimental validation of a compact 72 W LED driver based on the Infineon XDPL8220 digital controller. The proposed driver employs a two-stage topology that combines a power factor correction (PFC) boost stage and an isolated quasi-resonant flyback stage, both realized with custom-designed low-profile magnetic components. To achieve a reduced vertical profile without compromising performance, the flyback transformer and PFC choke were constructed using EFD ferrite cores and advanced multi-strand winding techniques. The final prototype, assembled on a PCB with a total height of only 18 mm, is optimized for integration into slim luminaires and space-constrained lighting applications.
