Title: Diagnostics of High Voltage Gas-Insulated Circuit Breakers Switching System

Abstract: This paper considers the mandatory tests for commissioning new high voltage SF6 circuit breakers, as well as additional tests for maintenance during operation. In order to achieve a more complex diagnosis of the contact systems of the circuit breakers during operation, additional tests are considered, such as: dynamic contact resistance, contact movement profile characteristics, remaining life assessment. Experimental results are provided for the static and dynamic contact resistance, as well as for the dynamic characteristics of the circuit breaker's contact system. An algorithm for determining the remaining life of the contact system is formulated. Provided results can be used for predictive maintenance analysis of high voltage SF6 circuit breakers.
