Title: Energy Efficiency in FDM/FFF 3D Printing Operations
Keywords: additive manufacturing, energy efficiency, power consumption, printing parameters, three-dimensional printing

Abstract: This study examines the energy consumption of three-dimensional printing processes under various conditions, focusing on the influence of material type, layer height, and printing speed on energy consumption. Experimental measurements were performed in real time during 3D printing using polylactic acid, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, and polyethylene terephthalate glycol-modified filaments. The results highlight the relationship between printing parameters and energy demand. A new metric is introduced to evaluate energy efficiency per unit volume, allowing for the identification of optimal settings that improve sustainability without reducing printing quality and speed.
