Abstract: The article focuses on the new role of university students to be е-content creators in academic and classroom settings in order to build valuable career skills as future-to-be elementary school teachers. It presents an innovative methodological approach for the development of digital competences by incorporating information and communication technology, such as online learning platforms and interactive tools in the teaching/learning process based on constructivist learning theory,student-centered approach,active and autonomous learning. Thus, students align with what is considered to be the 7C’s of 21st-century learning:collaboration,communication,creativity,critical thinking, character, citizenship, computational thinking. E-content development not only gets students more future-focused but also helps them make instructional choices about why and how to teach. Emphasis is put on some e-learning practices incorporated in academic settings to empower students as e-content creators.
