Title: Precision Improved Model for NenuFAR and LWA Using the Finite Element Method Keywords: antenna modeling, FEM, finite element method, HFSS, LWA, NenuFAR, radio astronomyAbstract: Long Wavelength Array (LWA) and NenuFAR (New extension in Nançay upgrading LoFAR) are both ground-based radio telescopes, working on the lowest observable frequencies from Earth and have very similar models, as NenuFAR is based on the construction of LWA. The accurate simulations of the array element is essential for the proper operation of the radiotelescope and accurate image reconstruction. For the sake of simplicity, the original elements are designed and simulated with Method of Moments (MoM) software (mainly NEC2 based). In this paper an approach to improve the pattern and other antenna specs simulation results is presented, by employing the finite element method - FEM. References - S.W.
