Abstract: An expression-assisted brain-computer interface(BCI)-based training system is designed for children with cerebral palsy (CP) in this paper. The system uses Emotiv EPOC + (brain-computer interface) to acquire and transmit EEG signals through the WebSocket communication protocol. The wavelet packet transform is adopted to process the signals and obtain the eigenvalues of the signals. V-REP simulation software is used to design a simulated four-wheeled cart, and the eigenvalues obtained are used to control the movement of the simulated cart in different directions to attract the child’s attention. The human-computer interaction interface with pictures is set to enhance and guide children’ s attention. The feasibility of the modified technology is verified through field experiments with the hospital rehabilitation division, providing technical reserves for the research and development of related equipment.
