Title: On the efficient design of wind farms’ earthing system

Abstract: This paper deals with the design of the grounding system of wind farms (W/F). The study investigates various simulation scenarios to determine different types of fault currents based on several short-circuit calculation (SCC) methods and the fault location. The predominant target of this paper is to determine the maximum ground fault current and the calculation of the hazardous developed potentials, such as touch and step voltages, which must not exceed permissible safety limits as specified by international standards. The aforementioned calculations are performed using appropriate software tools.
