Title: Operational Torque Characteristics of Innovative Coaxial Magnetic Gear's Constructions

Abstract: In this paper a thorough investigation of the torque of innovative coaxial magnetic gear's constructions has been made. The innovations of the construction of the coaxial magnetic gear is that permanent magnets between the steel segments of the magnetic gear are situated. Three variants of the polarity of the permanent magnets between the steel segments have been made. The torque of the three variants of the magnetic gear's constructions is investigated. A time dependent Finite Element Method (FEM) model has been implemented. Additional magnets will obtain greater magnetic torque due to increased magnetic flux. Different magnets orientation must improve flux modulation and flux detachment in high speed rotation. Increased cogging has also been observed. Comparison of the results for all constructions has been made.
