Title: Sample Solutions for Digitization of Distribution Substations
Keywords: smart MV/LV substation, secondary substation

Abstract: Electricity distribution companies in the Republic of Bulgaria are faced with ever-increasing expectations for reliable maintenance and high-quality power supply and achieving greater continuity of service. With the mass penetration of distributed energy resources across the grid, there are more opportunities to transition to Smart Grid technologies. To meet these expectations, a digitization process is also being started in the medium/low voltage substations, so there are more opportunities to implement "Smart Networks" as an element of "Smart Cities". In the present work, an analysis of basic solutions and components having the greatest and most significant influence in the transition to intelligent substations has been made.
