18^th International Workshop on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology
NANO 2016

Dear Attendees,

On behalf of the National Council on Nanotechnology (NCNT) and the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy (UCTM) I want to thank you for attending the 18^th International workshop on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (NANO 2016) devoted to the Responsible research & Innovation (the European Commission initiative) held on 18-19.11.2016 at the UCTM-Sofia.

Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) implies that societal actors (researchers, citizens, policy makers, business, third sector organisations, etc.) work together during the whole research and innovation process in order to better align both the process and its outcomes with the values, needs and expectations of society.

I hope that you found the conference informative and worthwhile. The primary goal of this conference was to bring together senior and young researchers and the policy makers to discuss the usage of nanomaterials in various fields including medicine.

I believe that the speakers and poster presenters provided insight how to transfer new knowledge to the industry and the wide public.

Your presence helped to make this event a great success and your enthusiasm and positive spirit helped make our time together productive.
